Orma 2020 is the flagship wine of Podere Orma, the Bolgheri project of the Moretti Cuseri family behind Tenuta Sette Ponti. Although classified as Toscana IGT, its personality is firmly rooted in coastal Tuscany: a dry red wine shaped as a Bordeaux-style blend, led by Merlot and supported by Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc.For the 2020 vintage, the blend is 50% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Cabernet Franc. The vineyards lie along the Via Bolgherese, in the heart of the Bolgheri area, on stony and clay-rich soils. That setting helps explain the wine's concentrated expression, with dark fruit, spice and structure at its core.
Fermentation is temperature controlled, followed by 18 days of skin contact, and the wine is aged in small barrels. The oak influence appears through notes such as cocoa, tobacco and light toast, adding depth around the fruit rather than taking over. In this 1.5-litre magnum format, Orma 2020 has real presence at the table, especially alongside full-flavoured meat dishes, game, roasts or mature cheeses.
