Clos Apalta 2020 Demi is the half-bottle format of Clos Apalta's grand vin, from the Apalta Valley in Chile. It is a dry red Bordeaux-style blend led by Carménère, supported by Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and a small proportion of Petit Verdot. The 37.5 cl bottle makes this serious red wine more flexible at the table, while remaining the official Clos Apalta 2020.The fruit comes from Apalta, where the vineyard sits in an amphitheatre-like setting with granite-rich soils, old vines and marked day-to-night temperature differences. The 2020 vintage was warm and dry, with an earlier harvest than usual, yet the tasting notes point to retained freshness alongside ripe fruit and concentration.
In the cellar, the wine was given a long maceration with manual pigeage, fermented in French oak vats, completed malolactic fermentation in new French oak barrels and then matured for 27 months in French oak. It was bottled unfined and unfiltered, keeping close to the depth and structure built during vinification and ageing.

The 2020 vintage received strong international recognition, including 99 points from James Suckling and 97 points from both Decanter and Jeb Dunnuck.
