Clos Floridene Blanc 2020 is a dry white Graves from Bordeaux, made as a classic white Bordeaux blend with sauvignon blanc as the leading variety, supported by sémillon and a small touch of muscadelle. It comes from Clos Floridene near Pujols-sur-Ciron, the estate developed from 1982 onwards by Denis and Florence Dubourdieu. Even the name carries that personal origin, combining elements of their first names.The appeal of this wine lies in the way freshness and structure meet. Sauvignon blanc gives the wine its citrus-driven aromatic lift, while sémillon adds roundness and substance. Fermentation and maturation take place in barriques and wooden vats, followed by 9 months on the lees with regular bâtonnage, adding texture without making the wine feel overtly oak-led in the available tasting descriptions.

About CLOS FLORIDENE
Clos Floridene is a wine estate from the Bordeaux region of France, located in the southern part of the Graves appellation. The estate was founded in the 1980s by Professor Denis Dubourdieu and his wife Florence, with the name being composed of parts of their first names. Clos Floridene is known for both white and red Bordeaux wines that are mainly made from grape varieties such as Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon and Merlot. One of the distinguishing features of the white wine is the relatively high proportion of Semillon, which gives a characteristic style profile with freshness, aromatic intensity and a certain depth. The vineyards are planted on typical limestone and gravelly soils, which adds to the minerality in the wines. Modern vinification techniques are used and there is great attention to detail, partly thanks to Denis Dubourdieu's background as a respected oenologist. In addition to a focus on quality, the production remains relatively modest, making the wines popular among lovers of classic Bordeaux with a distinctive character. Clos Floridene is part of the simultaneously managed family businesses of Dubourdieu, who within Bordeaux are known for their knowledge and care for authentic regional expression.
