Château La Garde 2020 White shows the crisp, mineral side of Pessac-Léognan. This is a dry white Bordeaux from France, made within the small white-wine production of Château La Garde in Martillac, a property that is part of Dourthe.For the 2020 vintage, the wine is described as 100% Sauvignon Blanc, sourced from vines planted on a deep limestone vein within the estate. That limestone setting helps explain the style described in the tasting notes: citrus-driven, herbal, precise and marked by a clear stony freshness.
The grapes are hand-harvested in small crates. The white vinification includes pressing under inert atmosphere, fermentation in oak barrels and eight months of ageing in barriques with lees bâtonnage. The oak influence is presented as supportive rather than dominant, adding texture and gentle spice.

About CH LA GARDE
Château La Garde is a wine estate from the Bordeaux region in France, more specifically located in the Pessac-Léognan appellation within the Graves. The estate has a history dating back to the 18th century, but it gained recognition especially from the end of the 20th century when it was taken over by the French wine company Dourthe. The vineyards of Château La Garde cover about 52 hectares, the majority of which is planted with Merlot, followed by Cabernet Sauvignon and a smaller share of Petit Verdot. The soils consist mainly of gravel and clay, which contributes to a distinctive style profile for the wines from Pessac-Léognan. Château La Garde is best known for its red wine but also produces white wine in smaller quantities, made from, among others, Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon. The vinification is characterized by a combination of traditional Bordeaux methods and modern techniques, with increasing attention being paid to sustainability and care for the vineyard.
