Chateau La Garde 2020 Rouge is the red grand vin of Château La Garde in Pessac-Léognan, Bordeaux. The 2020 vintage is a dry Bordeaux blend led by merlot, supported by cabernet sauvignon and a small proportion of petit verdot, giving the wine a clear sense of structure without losing its dark-fruited depth.
The estate lies in Martillac, where gravel ridges, plateaus, clay and limestone all play a role in the vineyard. For this vintage, producer information particularly highlights the merlot grown on clay-limestone soils, bringing a mineral dimension alongside the ripe fruit and firm tannic frame. The wine is vinified lot by lot, with careful sorting, cold pre-fermentation maceration and 12 to 14 months of ageing in oak barrels, partly on the lees.

Château La Garde 2020 White shows the crisp, mineral side of Pessac-Léognan. This is a dry white Bordeaux from France, made within the small white-wine production of Château La Garde in Martillac, a property that is part of Dourthe.
For the 2020 vintage, the wine is described as 100% Sauvignon Blanc, sourced from vines planted on a deep limestone vein within the estate. That limestone setting helps explain the style described in the tasting notes: citrus-driven, herbal, precise and marked by a clear stony freshness.
The grapes are hand-harvested in small crates. The white vinification includes pressing under inert atmosphere, fermentation in oak barrels and eight months of ageing in barriques with lees bâtonnage. The oak influence is (…)Chateau La Garde 2021 Red

Château La Garde 2021 Rouge is the red grand vin of the estate in Martillac, within the Pessac-Léognan appellation of Bordeaux. Its vineyards sit in the Graves area, where gravel ridges and plateaus are interwoven with clay, sandy gravel and limestone-influenced soils. For the grand vin, the château selects the parcels that best express this varied estate landscape.
The 2021 blend is made from 62% merlot, 36% cabernet sauvignon and 2% petit verdot. Each lot is vinified separately before the final assemblage, helping the estate preserve the character of the individual parcels. Maturation lasts 12 to 14 months, mainly in oak barrels, with part of the wine aged on fine lees.
There is an extra point of interest in this vintage: 2021 is noted as (…)Chateau La Garde 2021 Red Magnum (1,5l)

Château La Garde 2021 Red Magnum is the red grand vin of Château La Garde from Pessac-Léognan in Bordeaux. In this 1.5 litre magnum, the same Château La Garde Rouge 2021 cuvée takes on a generous table format, well suited to a shared meal or to a wine intended to develop further. The 2021 blend is 62% merlot, 36% cabernet sauvignon and 2% petit verdot.
The estate is based in Martillac, with vineyards spread across gravel ridges, plateaus and soils threaded with clay and limestone. That variation matters here. Cabernet sauvignon and petit verdot are mainly planted on gravel with a clay subsoil, while merlot is matched with deeper clay-limestone soils. The grapes are handled parcel by parcel, with optical sorting and vinification in separate (…)Chateau La Garde 2021 White

Château La Garde Blanc 2021 is a dry white Bordeaux from Pessac-Léognan, produced at the Martillac estate that has belonged to Maison Dourthe since 1990. White wine is made here in small quantities, with around 4 hectares dedicated to white grape varieties, so this is a more limited side of Château La Garde's production.
The 2021 blend is led by sauvignon blanc, with a smaller share of sémillon. That explains much of the wine's personality: sauvignon blanc brings the fresh, citrus-driven precision, while sémillon adds breadth, balance and volume. The sauvignon grown on a limestone vein is especially relevant for the wine's crisp and defined style.
The cellar work is equally careful. The grapes are harvested parcel by parcel, (…)
