Pichon Comtesse Réserve 2020 is the second wine of Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande in Pauillac. It comes from the same estate and shares the château's careful approach in the vineyard and cellar, while standing as its own cuvée beside the grand vin.The 2020 blend brings together Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot. The Petit Verdot is not just a detail here; the tasting notes link it with added structure and spice. The grapes come from gravel, clay and sand soils, with vines averaging 35 years of age. After parcel-by-parcel vinification, the wine spent 12 months in oak barrels, 40% of them new.

This winery traces its origins back to the 19th century and is internationally renowned for its elegant red wines, in which cabernet sauvignon usually plays the leading role, often complemented by merlot and smaller proportions of cabernet franc and petit verdot. The vineyards are situated on the characteristic gravel soils of the left bank of the Gironde, which contributes to the structure and aging potential of the wines.
