Product info about Chateau Du Glana 2020
Château du Glana 2020 is a red Bordeaux from Saint-Julien and the grand vin of the estate. The blend of 62% Cabernet Sauvignon and 38% Merlot gives it a clearly Médoc identity: dark fruit, firm structure and the Cabernet-led backbone that defines the wine, with Merlot adding its part to the overall shape.The 2020 vintage was early and warm. Dry conditions produced smaller berries, lower yields and greater concentration. Harvest took place from 14 to 29 September, followed by temperature-controlled vinification in concrete and stainless-steel vats. The wine then spent 12 months in French oak barriques, 40% of them new.

Château du Glana sits on the Route des Grands Vins between Beychevelle and Saint-Julien, on Garonne gravel soils closely associated with Cabernet Sauvignon in the Médoc. The estate was built in 1870 and its vineyard history is connected with parcels from notable properties in the appellation.
Only limited bottles remain, which adds relevance for a structured 2020 Bordeaux with ageing potential. It is a wine that fits naturally alongside red meat and is best served around 16 to 18 °C, while its Cabernet Sauvignon core, tannins and oak ageing suggest that it was not made solely for immediate drinking.

Ch Du Glana is a French wine producer originating from the well-known Bordeaux region, more specifically located in the appellation Saint-Julien in the Medoc. The winery, officially Château du Glana, owns vineyards that are mainly known for the classic Bordeaux grape varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The history of the estate goes back to the beginning of the twentieth century and saw strong development from the middle of that century onwards, with investments in modern viticulture and winemaking techniques. The vineyards can be found on the gravel-rich soil close to the river Gironde, which is typical for the wines from Saint-Julien. The red wines of Ch Du Glana are known for their elegant, balanced style with fruity notes and a subtle hint of oak aging. Due to its location and methods, the character of these wines corresponds well with other Saint-Julien producers, but Ch Du Glana distinguishes itself thanks to a relatively approachable character and good price-quality ratio.
