Château Citran 2020 Magnum is the grand vin of Château Citran from the Haut-Médoc, presented here in the 1.5 litre format. It is a red Bordeaux built from cabernet sauvignon, merlot and cabernet franc, with a style that places dark fruit, structure and ageing potential at the centre.The 2020 vintage was produced under the ownership of the Merlaut family. Grapes were selected parcel by parcel, sorted both in the vineyard and on the sorting table, then vinified traditionally in temperature-controlled tanks. Ageing in French oak, with 35% new barrels, adds roasted and spicy tones while keeping the fruit clearly in focus.

Château Citran is a winery from the French Bordeaux region, specifically located in the appellation Haut-Médoc, north of the city of Bordeaux. The history of the estate dates back to the 13th century, making it one of the older wineries in the region. Over time, Château Citran has had various owners. Since the end of the twentieth century, it has been under Asian ownership, but wine production remains firmly rooted in traditional French viticulture. The estate covers about 90 hectares with a combination of primarily Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot in the vineyards, which is typical for this region. The wines of Château Citran are known for their accessible style with a balance between fruitiness and fresh acidity, supported by modest oak aging. In addition to its Grand Vin, the house also produces a second wine, making it an interesting choice for both classic Bordeaux enthusiasts and those looking for approachable everyday wines.
