Chateau Citran 2019 is a dry red Bordeaux from Haut-Médoc, produced at the Château Citran estate in Avensan, owned by the Merlaut family since 1996. This is the château's grand vin, built on a classic Médoc blend of 49% merlot, 43% cabernet sauvignon and 8% cabernet franc.
The 2019 vintage was shaped by careful selection. The grapes came from estate vineyards with an average vine age of 35 years, grown on gravelly-sandy soils with limestone as well as clay-limestone plots. The harvest involved strict parcel selection and sorting, both in the vineyard and on the sorting table, giving the wine a sense of precision rather than simple weight.

Château Citran 2020 is a dry red Bordeaux from Haut-Médoc, produced as the grand vin of Château Citran in Avensan and referred to as Cru Bourgeois Supérieur. The 2020 vintage is built from cabernet sauvignon, merlot and cabernet franc, with strict parcel selection and sorting playing an important role in the final wine.
There is a clear left-bank feel here: structure, freshness and dark-fruited depth, supported by traditional vinification in temperature-controlled vats. Ageing in French oak barriques, with around 35% new oak, adds shape and savoury detail without turning the wine away from its Bordeaux identity.

Château Citran 2020 Magnum is the grand vin of Château Citran from the Haut-Médoc, presented here in the 1.5 litre format. It is a red Bordeaux built from cabernet sauvignon, merlot and cabernet franc, with a style that places dark fruit, structure and ageing potential at the centre.
The 2020 vintage was produced under the ownership of the Merlaut family. Grapes were selected parcel by parcel, sorted both in the vineyard and on the sorting table, then vinified traditionally in temperature-controlled tanks. Ageing in French oak, with 35% new barrels, adds roasted and spicy tones while keeping the fruit clearly in focus.

Château Citran 2021 is the estate's grand vin from Haut-Médoc in Bordeaux. It follows the classic Left Bank model, led by Cabernet Sauvignon and supported by Merlot and Cabernet Franc. In this vintage, the wine is described less as a broad, powerful Bordeaux and more as a fresh, linear expression with clear structure.
The estate is based in Avensan and works with 86 hectares of vineyards, including gravelly-sandy soils on limestone and clay-limestone parcels. Maturation took place for 14 months in French oak barrels, with 33% new oak. The oak influence is present, yet the wine is built in a way that allows fruit, tannin and wood to come together further with bottle age.

Chateau Citran 2022 is a red Haut-Médoc from Bordeaux, produced at Château Citran in Avensan. It is the estate's grand vin, made in a left-bank style with cabernet sauvignon at the heart of the blend, supported by merlot and cabernet franc. That gives the wine its sense of structure, dark fruit and composed Bordeaux character.
The grapes come from the estate's best plots, planted on sandy gravel and marl-limestone soils. Traditional vinification is followed by ageing in French oak barrels, including a proportion of new oak, with regular racking during maturation. In the 2022 vintage this translates into a wine with concentration and youthful firmness, one that has the substance to benefit from further bottle age.
