Flavour notes
Petit Figeac 2020 is described around ripe red and dark fruit, with cherry, redcurrant, raspberry, strawberry, blackberry and dark berries. Floral notes, white pepper, spice, graphite, slate, truffle-like earthiness, cigar leaf and a discreet touch of oak add further detail. On the palate it is medium to full in body, with a supple, juicy and refined texture. The tannins are fine-grained, sometimes chalky in feel, giving the wine definition without heaviness. The finish stays fresh, mineral and precise.

Product info about Petit Figeac 2020
Petit Figeac 2020 is the second wine of Château Figeac in Saint-Émilion Grand Cru, made from fruit grown on the estate itself. Since the 2012 vintage it has carried the Petit Figeac name, referring to a historic lieu-dit within the property. It is therefore closely tied to the Figeac estate rather than presented as a separate vineyard wine. The 2020 blend is led by merlot at 71%, with 19% cabernet franc and 10% cabernet sauvignon. Compared with the grand vin, this vintage places more emphasis on merlot, while still remaining firmly rooted in the same Saint-Émilion origin. Figeac lies on the western side of Saint-Émilion, close to Pomerol, with gravel ridges containing flint and quartz over blue clay. That setting is part of what gives cabernet such an important role in the estate's identity.
The growing season at Figeac in 2020 was early, running two to three weeks ahead of the average. A warm, dry winter, sufficient spring water reserves and a hot, dry summer shaped a vintage described for Petit Figeac as combining aromatic freshness, texture and density. Ageing in barriques for around 12 to 15 months adds structure without making the wine feel defined only by oak.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, Petit Figeac 2020 sits nicely among Bordeaux wines with a clear sense of estate identity: a Saint-Émilion Grand Cru from a respected château, with the appeal of a carefully selected second wine. Only the last bottles remain available.
