Pastourelle de Clerc Milon 2016 is the second wine of Château Clerc Milon from Pauillac in Bordeaux. It comes from the same terroirs as the grand vin, with the 2016 blend made up of 52% Cabernet Sauvignon and 48% Merlot. The Cabernet Sauvignon gives the wine its structure, while the Merlot brings a fuller, more rounded presence.The 2016 growing season in Pauillac was shaped by contrast: a very wet winter and spring, followed by an exceptionally dry summer and autumn. According to the producer, the dry conditions kept the grapes small and contributed to concentration. Harvest took place from 28 September to 15 October, starting with the Merlot parcels, and each grape variety and plot was vinified separately.
After 12 months in one-year-old barriques, Pastourelle de Clerc Milon 2016 stands as a dry, full-bodied red Bordeaux with oak ageing and a clear Pauillac identity. The name Pastourelle refers to a medieval poetic form and a dance figure, in keeping with the artistic references linked to Château Clerc Milon.
