Terrazas De Los Andes Reserva Malbec 2020 is a dry red wine from Mendoza, Argentina, with a clear mountain origin. Terrazas de los Andes works here with Malbec from its own high-altitude vineyards in Luján de Cuyo and the Uco Valley, including areas such as Las Compuertas, Paraje Altamira, Los Chacayes and Gualtallary.The strength of this Reserva lies in the way different elevated parcels are brought together. The fruit comes from more than one hundred plots at roughly 1,070 to 1,250 metres above sea level. The 2020 growing season was hot and dry, with harvest brought forward in several areas, yet the producer describes grapes that retained acidity, colour and fresh aromatic expression.
Each origin is handled separately during vinification. Most of the wine matures for about a year in French oak barrels, while a smaller part remains in concrete tanks to protect fruit and freshness. That combination gives the wine its sense of depth without moving away from the lively fruit that defines the style.
