Di Sipio Montepulciano d'Abruzzo 2022 is a dry red wine from Abruzzo, made entirely from Montepulciano. Its identity is closely tied to its origin: selected vineyards in Abruzzo, with Di Sipio based in Ripa Teatina in the province of Chieti, in an area shaped by the Adriatic Sea and the nearby Majella.The approach in the cellar keeps the focus on fruit, freshness and structure. The grapes are harvested by hand and selected again on arrival at the winery. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, followed by extended skin maceration. The wine then matures in steel and is kept in bottle for at least twelve months before release.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see this as a Montepulciano d'Abruzzo with a clear sense of place and a generous dark-fruited style, supported by spice and firm yet measured tannins. The 2022 vintage was awarded 90 points by Wine Enthusiast, a useful indication of how well this release has been received.
