Michele Chiarlo Reyna Barbaresco 2019 is a red wine from Piedmont, made from Nebbiolo within the Barbaresco DOCG. In the Michele Chiarlo range, Reyna is positioned as a classic Barbaresco alongside the estate's cru wines, drawing on vineyards on steep slopes in Barbaresco and Neive rather than focusing on a single cru identity.The grapes come from south-east and south-west facing sites, rooted in blue-grey calcareous clay marl soils. Harvesting is done by hand, after excess bunches are thinned at the end of summer. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel, followed by at least two years of maturation, including a period in medium and large wooden casks. It is a traditional framework for Nebbiolo, shaped with an eye for finesse rather than weight alone.
Michele Chiarlo described 2019 as a classic, high-quality vintage, marked by low yields and strong fruit quality. In magnum format, this 1.5 litre bottle brings extra presence to the table, especially for a dinner where Barbaresco is meant to accompany the meal rather than simply appear by the glass.

Michele Chiarlo is an Italian wine producer from Piemonte, founded in 1956 by Michele Chiarlo himself. The family company has been active since the beginning in one of the most highly regarded wine regions of Northern Italy, and has strongly focused on producing wines that reflect the character of the region. The vineyards of Michele Chiarlo are mainly located in the most famous Piemontese zones, including Barolo and Barbaresco for the red wines from the Nebbiolo grape, but also in regions such as Asti for Barbera and Moscato, among others. Quality and terroir are central in the winery's approach; a lot of attention is paid to sustainable viticultural practices and a careful selection of grapes. The assortment of Michele Chiarlo ranges from fresh, floral white wines to structured, complex red wines that are typical for Piemonte.
