Pouilly Fumé Argile à Silex 2025 from Domaine Bouchie-Chatellier is a dry white wine from France's Loire region, within the Pouilly-Fumé AOC. It is made from Sauvignon Blanc, locally also referred to as Blanc Fumé, and its name points directly to the soils behind the wine: clay with flint on the higher slopes of Saint-Andelain.The domaine works its vineyards traditionally, with ploughing and grass cover on the slopes. This cuvée is drawn from selected flint-rich terroirs near the top of the village, facing towards the Loire. The use of the estate's own massal selection, propagated since 1930, and vines noted at up to around 65 years old give the wine a strong sense of continuity and place.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see this as a Pouilly-Fumé for those moments when clarity, tension and mineral expression matter. It is a fresh, precise and dry Loire Sauvignon Blanc, shaped around citrus brightness, stony freshness and a subtle flinty edge. In its youth it shows its most vivid citrus-driven side; with some bottle age, the producer notes that riper yellow-fruit tones can appear.
It is a natural partner for fish, oysters, seafood, shellfish, sushi, ceviche and goat's cheese such as Crottin de Chavignol. The 2025 vintage also received a CMB Merit score of 87.60 points at the Sauvignon Selection by CMB.
