Domaine Bouchié-Chatellier Pouilly-Fumé Premier Millésime 2022 is a dry white wine from the Loire, made in Saint-Andelain from 100% sauvignon blanc, known locally as Blanc Fumé. Premier Millésime is the estate's selected cuvée, drawn from chosen plots of old vines on the hill above the Loire.The wine is shaped by a very specific place. Its grapes come from flint-rich clay soils with shell-bearing Kimmeridgian material, a combination selected for a more concentrated and structured expression than the estate's basic cuvées. That gives this Pouilly-Fumé its meeting point between ripe fruit, freshness and a distinctly stony, flinty thread.
In the cellar, the approach is precise: pneumatic pressing, static settling, skin contact and temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel for around three weeks. After blending, selected tanks remain on fine lees, and the wine spends a year in the producer's vaulted cellars. The 2022 vintage has also received outside recognition, including 92 points and Editors' Choice from Wine Enthusiast, plus a gold medal at Sauvignon Selection by CMB 2024. It sits very comfortably at the table with fish and seafood, especially grilled shellfish, smoked fish, smoked salmon or salmon with a light cream and dill sauce.
