Zeni Amarone Valpolicella Classico 2022 is a red wine from the Valpolicella Classica area in Veneto, the hilly zone north of Verona. Its official appellation is Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG Classico, made by Cantina F.lli Zeni 1870 in Bardolino, close to Lake Garda.The heart of the wine is the traditional Amarone method. Corvina, Corvinone and Rondinella grapes are hand selected from hillside vineyards and placed in small crates for 2 to 3 months of appassimento. During this drying period, sugars, extract, aromas and glycerine become more concentrated before fermentation begins. The wine then undergoes traditional skin fermentation with 15 to 20 days of maceration, followed by 2 to 3 years in large 50-hectolitre oak casks.
