Madame De Beaucaillou 2019 is a red Bordeaux from the Haut-Médoc, made by the teams behind Château Ducru-Beaucaillou. The cuvée pays tribute to Madame Eugène-Borie and was introduced with the 2019 vintage, drawing on Haut-Médoc vineyards connected to the family's history.It should be seen as its own wine rather than as one of the estate's Saint-Julien bottlings. The blend is led by Merlot, with Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot and a small proportion of Cabernet Franc. That gives it ripe fruit, structure and a spiced undertone, while keeping the style approachable rather than austere.
Twelve months in Bordeaux barriques, partly new French oak, add shape and polish without taking over the fruit. At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of Bordeaux we like to present when someone wants a bottle with a recognised name behind it, but with its own Haut-Médoc identity. The 2019 vintage brings ripeness, balance and structure, supported by enough freshness to keep the wine lively.

Château Ducru-Beaucaillou is a respected winery from the Bordeaux region in France, more specifically located in the Saint-Julien appellation. The estate owes its name to the striking pebbles (beaux cailloux) in the soil, a feature that contributes to the character of the wines. Château Ducru-Beaucaillou belongs to the so-called Deuxièmes Crus Classés according to the famous 1855 classification. The estate has a rich history that dates back to the 18th century and has been managed by the Borie family since 1941. In the vineyards, mainly cabernet sauvignon is planted, supplemented with merlot, which is typical for Saint-Julien. The wines from this house are known for their complexity, elegance and the potential to age well. In addition to the grand vin, the château also produces a second wine: La Croix Ducru-Beaucaillou.
