La Dame de Montrose 2019 is the second wine of Château Montrose in Saint-Estèphe, Bordeaux. It is made from grapes grown in the same vineyard as the Grand Vin, but through a second selection, giving it its own interpretation of the estate's terroir.The 2019 blend is especially interesting because Cabernet Sauvignon takes the lead at 48%, supported by 45% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc and 4% Petit Verdot. For La Dame de Montrose, where Merlot is often more prominent, that Cabernet presence gives this vintage a firmer Médoc line, with structure, savoury depth and graphite-like detail.
The vintage was handled with precision: harvesting took place parcel by parcel from 19 September to 8 October, followed by separate vinification of the different lots. The wine then matured for 12 months in oak barrels, 30% of them new, adding support without turning the wine into a wood-driven Bordeaux.

Château Montrose is a respected winery from the Bordeaux region in France, located in the appellation of Saint-Estèphe, which is part of the famous Médoc area on the left bank of the Gironde. The estate was established in the early 19th century and gradually grew to become one of the important names in the region. Château Montrose has held the classification of Deuxième Cru Classé since 1855, meaning Second Grand Cru Classe, which indicates considerable historical reputation and quality status in the history of Bordeaux wine. The vineyard covers approximately 95 hectares and is planted mainly with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, supplemented with smaller amounts of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot.
