About MARACAME
Maracame is a tequila originating from Mexico and is known as a product that reflects the tradition of Mexican tequila. The brand is produced in the Jalisco region, the main area for tequila production, where the climate and soils are ideal for growing blue agave. Maracame tequila is made from 100% blue Weber agave, a requirement for classification as true tequila according to current Mexican regulations. The distillation process takes place according to traditional methods, where the agave hearts are cooked and then fermented into an alcoholic mixture. After distillation, a clear tequila (blanco) is produced, but within the range there are also often reposado and anejo variants that are aged in oak barrels for several months to a few years, respectively. Maracame distinguishes itself not only by its contents, but also by its striking bottle shape and often handmade decoration, which refers to Mexican craft traditions. The name Maracame originates from the Huichol tribe in West Mexico, where the marakame is the term for a spiritual leader or shaman, which fits the cultural story associated with the brand.
