Warre's 1985 Cellar Release is a Vintage Port with a notably patient history behind it. Sourced from Quinta da Cavadinha and Quinta do Retiro, it reflects the elegant, refined Warre's style described in the supplied information.After traditional vinification in stone lagares, the Port spent two years in cask before resting for more than forty years in the family cellars. That long period of cellar ageing gives this release a particular sense of provenance: it is not simply a 1985 Vintage Port, but a carefully held cellar release from the producer's own reserves.

About WARRE'S
Warre & Co was founded in 1670 and is the oldest port house in the world. William Warre gave his name to the company in 1729 and the Warre family would remain active in the port world for more than 200 years. In 1863, Andrew James Symington, great-grandfather of the current director of Warre, moved to Portugal and in 1905 became associated with Warre. From 1912, the Warre family returned to London to manage sales from there, while the Symington family remained in Portugal and took care of production. Symington Family wines is to this day the parent company of Warre. The wines of Warre come from three large estates: Quinta da Cavadinha (46 hectares), Quinta do Retiro Antigo (40 ha) and Quinta da Telhada (35 ha).
