Clos Du Clocher 2021 is a dry red Pomerol from Bordeaux with a strong sense of place. The wine comes from the Pomerol plateau, close to the church that gives the estate its reference to the bell tower. Gravel and blue clay are central to the vineyard setting, bringing density and structure to a vintage that was cooler and more demanding than the warmer surrounding years.
The blend is 70% merlot and 30% cabernet franc. Merlot forms the foundation, while the sizeable share of cabernet franc, from old vines, adds freshness, lift and structure. In 2021, Clos du Clocher was officially in conversion to organic farming, and the grapes were harvested and selected by hand.

Clos du Clocher 2021 in demi format is the same Pomerol cuvée presented in a 37.5 cl half bottle, not a separate wine. It is a useful size when you want to open a serious Bordeaux without committing to a full bottle.
The wine comes from the Pomerol plateau, opposite the church, from a small vineyard of around 5 hectares owned by the Bourotte-Audy family. The 2021 blend is 70% merlot and 30% cabernet franc. Merlot shapes the dark fruit, while cabernet franc brings freshness, floral detail and structure, all particularly relevant in this cooler, more defined vintage.

Clos du Clocher 2021 Magnum takes us to Pomerol on Bordeaux's Right Bank, where the estate's identity is closely linked to the parcels near the church from which it takes its name. This 1.5 litre bottle is a red, dry Pomerol made from 70% merlot and 30% cabernet franc, with grapes grown on the Pomerol plateau in soils described as gravel, clay and blue clay subsoil.
For the 2021 vintage, the grapes were hand-harvested, manually sorted and vinified parcel by parcel in small temperature-controlled stainless steel and concrete vats, with part of the wine undergoing integral vinification in barrel.
