Clos Marsalette 2019 Blanc

Clos Marsalette 2019 Blanc is a white Pessac-Léognan from Bordeaux with a quietly serious character. It is produced in Martillac by Clos Marsalette, jointly owned by Comte Stephan von Neipperg and Didier Miqueu. The white vineyard covers just 1.30 hectares, so this is a wine made on a naturally small scale rather than as a broad commercial release.
For the 2019 vintage, the blend brings Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon close together, combining freshness with a more rounded structure. Fermentation took place in stainless steel, followed by 9 months on the lees. Part of the ageing remained in tank, while the larger share matured in oak barrels, including a portion of new oak. That background helps explain the wine's combination of citrus lift, ripe fruit and creamy (…)Clos Marsalette 2020 Blanc

Clos Marsalette 2020 Blanc is a dry white Bordeaux from Pessac-Léognan, made by Clos Marsalette in Martillac. The white wine production here is small in scale: the estate has just 1.30 hectares of white grapes alongside its red plantings, which gives this bottling a rather focused, limited feel.
The 2020 vintage is a blend of 60% Sauvignon Blanc and 40% Sémillon. After harvesting in late August, the wine fermented in stainless steel and spent nine months on its lees. Part of the ageing remained in stainless steel, while the larger share took place in oak barrels, including a portion of new oak. That combination keeps the wine fresh and dry, while adding shape, creaminess and a measured touch of barrel influence.
Its vineyard setting also (…)Clos Marsalette 2021

Clos Marsalette 2021

Clos Marsalette 2021 is the estate's white wine from Pessac-Léognan in Bordeaux. Made in Martillac, within the Graves area, it blends 60% Sauvignon Blanc with 40% Sémillon. The result is a dry white Bordeaux built around freshness, definition and texture rather than sheer aromatic volume.
The white wine comes from a very small vineyard area of around 1.30 hectares, planted on gravel-rich Graves soils with sand, clay and calcareous elements. For the 2021 vintage, the white grapes were harvested on 14 and 15 September, followed by vinification in stainless steel tanks.
Nine months on fine lees, partly in stainless steel and partly in barriques, give the wine extra depth while keeping its lively line intact. At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see this as (…)Clos Marsalette 2022

Clos Marsalette 2022
In stock
Clos Marsalette 2022 shows the white-wine side of Pessac-Léognan: a dry Bordeaux from Martillac, made in a style where freshness, texture and discreet structure matter more than overt oak. White wine represents only a small part of the estate's plantings, which gives this bottling a more specific place within the Clos Marsalette range.
The blend is 55% Sauvignon Blanc and 45% Sémillon. Sauvignon Blanc brings aromatic lift and acidity, while Sémillon adds roundness and body. Fermentation took place in stainless steel, followed by nine months on fine lees, partly in tank and partly in oak barrels, with new wood used in a measured way.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see this as a white Bordeaux for the table rather than just for the aperitif. (…)
