Chateau Leoville Las Cases 2001 (Ex-Chateau 2022)
On request only
Château Léoville Las Cases 2001 (Ex-Château 2022) is the Grand Vin of Château Léoville Las Cases, a red Bordeaux from Saint-Julien in the Médoc. Its Deuxième Grand Cru Classé status from the 1855 classification gives the wine its historical frame, while Ex-Château 2022 refers to the release context of the bottle rather than to a different cuvée. This remains the 2001 vintage of the Grand Vin.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, a bottle like this is approached as more than a mature Bordeaux name. It brings together château provenance, a classic Saint-Julien origin and a cabernet-led composition: 69% cabernet sauvignon, 19% merlot and 12% cabernet franc.
The fruit for the Grand Vin comes mainly from (…)Chateau Leoville Las Cases 2003

Chateau Leoville Las Cases 2003

Chateau Leoville Las Cases 2003 is the Grand Vin of Léoville Las Cases, from Saint-Julien in the Médoc. As a Deuxième Grand Cru Classé from the 1855 classification, it carries serious Bordeaux pedigree, but the real point of interest here is how that pedigree meets the very warm 2003 vintage.
The fruit comes mainly from the historic terroirs of the old Domaine de Léoville, especially the walled Clos Léoville Las Cases near Saint-Julien, facing towards Pauillac. Gravel-based soils and the influence of the Gironde give Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc a central voice here. The 2003 blend is 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 17% Merlot and 13% Cabernet Franc, matured in French oak barriques with around 50% new oak.

Chateau Leoville Las Cases 2010 (Ex Chateau 2023) is the Grand Vin of Léoville Las Cases, a red Bordeaux from Saint-Julien in the Médoc. The château is classified as a Deuxième Grand Cru Classé in the 1855 classification, while the Ex Chateau 2023 mention points to provenance or a later release from the château itself, a detail that matters with a wine of this standing.
The 2010 vintage is led by cabernet sauvignon, supported by merlot and cabernet franc. Most of the fruit comes from the Clos Léoville Las Cases, close to the Gironde, where gravel, sand and clay shape a terroir closely associated by the producer with cabernet expression. The result is a Saint-Julien built less around early softness and more around tension, depth (…)Chateau Leoville Las Cases 2010 Magnum (1,5l) (Ex Chateau 2023)

Chateau Leoville Las Cases 2010 Magnum (1,5l) (Ex Chateau 2023)
On request only
Château Léoville Las Cases 2010 in magnum is the estate's Grand Vin from Saint-Julien, presented here in a 1.5 litre bottle with the Ex Château 2023 indication. That provenance gives this release an added sense of place and continuity. At Drankenshop Broekmans, it is the kind of Bordeaux we present with care, especially as only the last bottles remain.
The wine comes from the Grand Enclos near the Gironde, where gravel-based soils with sandy, clayey and deeper clay elements help shape a classic Left Bank profile. The 2010 blend is led by cabernet sauvignon, with merlot and cabernet franc in support, giving a wine built around dark fruit, freshness, concentration and firm structure.
The growing season helps explain that combination of (…)Chateau Leoville Las Cases 2019

Chateau Leoville Las Cases 2019
On request only
Chateau Leoville Las Cases 2019 is the Grand Vin of Leoville du Marquis de Las Cases, a red Bordeaux from Saint-Julien in the Médoc. The estate is classified as a Deuxième Grand Cru Classé in the 1855 classification, and this wine should be seen separately from Clos du Marquis and Le Petit Lion du Marquis de Las Cases.
The 2019 blend is firmly led by cabernet sauvignon at 79%, with merlot and cabernet franc completing the composition. Most of the fruit comes from the Clos Leoville Las Cases, on the Saint-Julien side facing towards Pauillac. Gravel, sandy gravel and clay-based subsoils, together with the influence of the Gironde, form the setting that the estate highlights as particularly suited to cabernet sauvignon and cabernet franc.

Château Léoville Las Cases 2019 Magnum is the Grand Vin of Léoville du Marquis de Las Cases, from Saint-Julien in the Médoc. In its 1.5 litre magnum format, the wine has the feel of a bottle made for time: a dry, structured red Bordeaux with Cabernet Sauvignon firmly at its centre.
The 2019 blend is 79% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc. Its fruit is linked to the historic heart of the former Léoville estate, particularly the Clos Léoville Las Cases near Saint-Julien, towards Pauillac. Gravel-rich soils, gravel-sandy and gravel-clay subsoils, and the influence of the Gironde all help frame a wine of depth, definition and Médoc identity.

Château Léoville Las Cases 2020 is the Grand Vin of Léoville du Marquis de Las Cases, a red Bordeaux from Saint-Julien in the Médoc. This 37.5 cl half bottle contains the same wine as the standard format, but in a size that feels especially useful when you want to open a great Bordeaux with focus and moderation.
Its origin lies in the historic Léoville terroirs, notably Clos Léoville Las Cases on the northern side of Saint-Julien, towards Pauillac. The 2020 blend is led by Cabernet Sauvignon, with Cabernet Franc and Merlot in support. That gives the wine a clearly structured Saint-Julien profile, with firmness, freshness and a long ageing perspective.
The 2020 growing season started early after a mild, rainy winter and (…)La Petite Marquise Du Clos Du Marquis 2021 (Van Chateau Leoville-Las Cases)

La Petite Marquise du Clos du Marquis 2021 is a red wine from Saint-Julien in Bordeaux, produced under Clos du Marquis within Domaines Delon, the family company also associated with Château Léoville Las Cases. It is the second wine of Clos du Marquis, with its own place and identity rather than simply being a smaller version of something else.
The 2021 blend is led by 55% cabernet sauvignon, supported by 38% merlot and 7% cabernet franc. That composition says a great deal about the wine: cabernet brings cassis, graphite-like definition and structure, while merlot adds juicier, rounder fruit. Domaines Delon described 2021 as a demanding growing season, yet one that ultimately delivered complete and homogeneous ripeness.
What also stands out is the (…)Le Petit Lion Du Marquis De Las Cases 2020

Le Petit Lion Du Marquis De Las Cases 2020

Le Petit Lion du Marquis de Las Cases 2020 is the second wine of Château Léoville Las Cases in Saint-Julien, Médoc. That matters, because this is made to reflect the château's style in a form that can be approached earlier than the grand vin.
The 2020 blend is based on cabernet sauvignon, merlot and cabernet franc, with merlot playing a significant role. The estate information points to specific parcels, including young cabernet vines and old merlot vines. Ageing in French oak barriques, around 30% new, supports the wine's structure without turning the oak into the main subject.
There is real Saint-Julien substance here: ripe fruit, freshness and a firm tannic frame, yet with the more accessible intention of a second wine. At (…)Le Petit Lion Du Marquis De Las Cases 2021

Le Petit Lion du Marquis de Las Cases 2021 is the second wine of Château Léoville Las Cases in Saint-Julien, Médoc. It belongs firmly to the same estate universe as the Grand Vin, yet it has its own purpose: a more approachable expression, shaped by a generous share of Merlot and supported by the freshness and structure of Cabernet Sauvignon.
The 2021 blend is 57% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon and 3% Cabernet Franc. That relatively high Merlot component gives the wine a softer entry, while its Saint-Julien origin keeps the line firm and precise. The fruit comes from Léoville Las Cases terroirs within the context of the Clos, where the estate describes mainly Quaternary gravel soils over gravel-sand and gravel-clay subsoils. The nearby Gironde is (…)Le Petit Lion Du Marquis De Las Cases 2021 Magnum (1,5l)

Le Petit Lion du Marquis de Las Cases 2021 is the second wine of Ch Leoville Las Cases from Saint-Julien, offered here in a 1.5-litre magnum. That format gives the bottle a certain sense of occasion, especially for a structured red Bordeaux with the capacity to develop further.
The 2021 blend is made up of 57% merlot, 40% cabernet sauvignon and 3% cabernet franc. With its comparatively strong merlot component, Le Petit Lion is positioned as a more approachable expression than the estate's Grand Vin, while still carrying the Saint-Julien identity of precision, freshness and firm structure. The grapes come from parcels within Clos Leoville Las Cases, on gravel-rich soils influenced by the nearby Gironde.
There is an additional point of interest in this vintage: (…)Le Petit Lion Du Marquis De Las Cases 2022

Le Petit Lion du Marquis de Las Cases 2022 is the second wine of Château Léoville Las Cases in Saint-Julien, though second wine does not mean modest here. It carries the estate's serious Bordeaux identity: ripe dark fruit, firm structure and precision, presented in a style that is more approachable than the Grand Vin.
The 2022 blend is based on cabernet sauvignon, merlot and cabernet franc, with merlot playing a significant role. The fruit comes from the Saint-Julien terroirs of Clos Léoville Las Cases and the Grand Enclos de Las Cases, where gravel, sand and clay soils are shaped by the influence of the Gironde. The hot, dry 2022 growing season produced small, concentrated grapes with high ripeness, while freshness remained an important part of the (…)Le Petit Lion Du Marquis De Las Cases 2022 Demi (37,5cl)

Le Petit Lion du Marquis de Las Cases 2022 is the second wine of Château Léoville Las Cases in Saint-Julien, offered here in the 37.5 cl demi-bottle format. Demi refers to the half-bottle size, not to a separate cuvée. It is still the same Bordeaux red, rooted in the Las Cases world and linked to the Grand Enclos, with its gravel soils, clay influences and the moderating presence of the Gironde.
The 2022 blend is led by Cabernet Sauvignon, supported by Merlot and Cabernet Franc. It was a warm vintage, yet the Gironde influence and early-season rainfall helped the vines through the growing season. The producer refers to small, concentrated berries and careful parcel selection, giving a wine with substance and ripeness, while remaining the more (…)
