Quinta Da Fonte Souto Florao White 2025 comes from a cooler, higher part of the Alentejo rather than the region's warmer plains. The vineyards of Quinta da Fonte Souto are in Portalegre, on the slopes of the Serra de São Mamede, at around 500 metres altitude. That setting is central to the wine's identity: fresh, aromatic and structured, with a clear sense of brightness.Fonte Souto is part of Symington Family Estates and was acquired in 2017 as the family's first vineyard property outside the Douro. The 2025 Florao White is made from 75% Arinto and 25% Verdelho. Grapes are hand-picked, carefully selected and fermented at low temperature in stainless steel. The wine stays in tank for four months, with no oak influence, and malolactic fermentation is prevented to keep the acidity crisp and direct.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of Portuguese white we like to present when someone wants freshness without losing depth. The 2025 growing season brought warm summer conditions, but Fonte Souto's altitude helped preserve lift and balance; for the first time, some white grapes were harvested at night to protect that freshness.
Serve it at about 12 to 14 °C with seafood, fish or sushi, or enjoy it young for its clean fruit and lively Alentejo character.
