Château La Pointe 2022 Magnum presents Pomerol in a generous 1.5-litre bottle, with the calm confidence one expects from a well-regarded Right Bank Bordeaux estate. The 2022 blend is led by Merlot, supported by Cabernet Franc, and the available tasting impressions point to a wine with freshness, structure and aromatic lift rather than sheer weight.The growing season gives this vintage much of its story. A very mild winter brought early growth, flowering was quick and even, and the summer turned warm and notably dry. According to the château, the vines remained in good condition, helped by a few timely rains and regular morning dew. Harvest began early, with Merlot picked from 5 September and Cabernet Franc continuing until 17 September.
La Pointe works 23 hectares in Pomerol, spread across gravelly, pebbly, clay-gravel and sandy soils over clay or gravel. The estate describes its viticulture as eco-responsible. For 2022, the official blend is 84% Merlot and 16% Cabernet Franc, with traditional vinification and maturation referred to in tasting sources as roughly 12 months, partly in new oak.

About CH LA POINTE
Château La Pointe is a wine estate located in the Bordeaux region of France, more specifically within the renowned appellation of Pomerol. The estate has a long history dating back to the 19th century and is especially known for its red wines, which are made from a blend in which Merlot and Cabernet Franc play a leading role. With a vineyard surface area of over 20 hectares, Château La Pointe is one of the larger producers within the relatively small Pomerol appellation. The vines have, on average, a respectable age and grow on the characteristic gravel and clay soils that are typical for this area of Bordeaux. In the vinification process, much attention is paid to preserving the expression of the terroir, resulting in characterful wines with an elegant style and a good balance between fruit, structure, and refinement. Château La Pointe has had various owners over the years, during which investments in the vineyard and cellar have visibly raised the level of quality. Production is focused almost entirely on red wine, which is common in the Pomerol region.
