Clos Lunelles 2022 is a red Bordeaux from Bordeaux Côtes de Castillon, shaped by a Merlot-led blend with Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon in support. Its vineyard lies on the Sainte-Colombe plateau, the highest point of the Côtes de Castillon, on clay-limestone soils over limestone with fossil starfish deposits.That setting is central to the wine's identity. The grapes are harvested and selected by hand, then vinified in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. Malolactic fermentation takes place in barriques, followed by ageing in a mix of new barrels and one-year-old barrels. The result is a concentrated right-bank Bordeaux style, built around ripe dark fruit, firm structure, mineral tension and a measured spicy oak influence.

About CLOS LUNELLES
Clos Lunelles is a French vineyard that produces wine in the Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux region, on the eastern side of Bordeaux. The estate was previously known as Chateau Lapeyronie, but received a new name and a more ambitious character under the supervision of the current owners. Clos Lunelles is part of the portfolio of Gerard and Chantal Perse, who also own respected Bordeaux chateaus such as Chateau Pavie in Saint-Émilion. In the vineyards of Clos Lunelles, merlot dominates, usually complemented by cabernet sauvignon and cabernet franc, resulting in pronounced, often powerful red wines with a typical Bordeaux character. The production emphasizes low yields and manual harvesting. The wine often ages in new French oak barrels, which contributes to its rich and structured character. Thanks to the involvement of winemakers with experience in Saint-Émilion and careful vineyard management, Clos Lunelles has gained prestige within the appellation in a relatively short time.
