Château Belgrave 2022 is a red Bordeaux from Haut-Médoc with a clearly Left Bank identity. The estate is located in Saint-Laurent-Médoc, close to Saint-Julien, and holds the rank of Cinquième Grand Cru Classé in the 1855 classification. In the 2022 vintage, cabernet sauvignon leads the blend, supported by merlot and a small proportion of petit verdot.The vineyard includes deep gravel soils over a clay subsoil, a setting that helps explain the wine's cabernet-driven structure. Grapes were hand-harvested and carefully sorted before vinification. Maturation took place for 12 months in oak barrels, 29% of them new, with a small number of lots also aged in amphora. The result sits firmly in the world of classic Bordeaux, but with a thoughtful eye for definition and freshness.
