Chateau Alcee 2022 Magnum is a red Bordeaux from Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux, bottled in the generous 1.5 litre magnum format. The wine is part of the estate holdings of Nicolas and Cyrille Thienpont, and the 2022 vintage is made entirely from Merlot grown on limestone and clay-limestone soils in Castillon.There is a clear sense of place in the way this wine is described: ripe Merlot fruit, but with the freshness and grip associated with its limestone plateau. The grapes were harvested in September, fermented as whole berries in concrete vats, and then aged for 12 to 16 months in 225 and 500 litre barrels.
