Altano Douro Rosé 2024 presents the Douro Valley in a fresh, modern rosé style. Made by Symington under the Altano label, it is a pale, fruit-driven Portuguese rosé designed to be enjoyed young, with freshness at the centre of its personality.Its production is aimed at keeping that bright character intact. The grapes are gently pressed, the varieties are fermented separately, and the final blend is put together to shape the desired colour, aroma and taste. Time in tank on fine lees, with weekly bâtonnage, gives the wine a little extra texture without taking away from its light and refreshing feel.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see this as a rosé for warm days and relaxed food moments: an aperitif, but also a good match for salads, oily fish, white meat or grilled dishes. Serve it chilled, around 10 to 12 °C, to keep its clean red-fruit character nicely in focus.
