Chateau Doisy Daene 2021 Barsac is a noble sweet white wine from Barsac in Bordeaux, produced by a Deuxième Cru Classé estate from the 1855 classification for Sauternes and Barsac. For the 2021 vintage, the wine is described as 100% Sémillon, grown on the Haut-Barsac terroir, where clay-limestone soils are often linked with freshness, tension and a mineral impression.Its interest lies in the way sweetness is carried by precision. The grapes are hand-harvested in successive selective passes, each one focused on concentration and noble rot. Fermentation takes place in barriques, with separate handling by picking pass and parcel, followed by barrel ageing. It is a traditional Barsac approach, but the emphasis here is clearly on clarity and lift rather than sheer weight.
The 2021 vintage in Sauternes and Barsac was demanding and highly selective, with very low yields. The best wines from the year are marked by botrytis concentration, bright acidity, citrus tension and a more focused style. Serve it young on the cool side, around 10°C. It naturally suits foie gras, poultry with fruit elements, blue cheese, Comté or fruit-based desserts, though it has enough poise to be enjoyed quietly on its own.

About CH DOISY DAENE
Château Doisy Daëne is a French winery located in the Barsac appellation in the Bordeaux region. The estate is mainly known for its sweet white wines, produced primarily from Sémillon grapes, complemented by Sauvignon Blanc and Muscadelle. Since the beginning of the 20th century, the château has been owned by the Dubourdieu family, who have built a strong reputation in both traditional and modern winemaking. The vineyards of Château Doisy Daëne benefit from the unique microclimate of Barsac, which offers ideal conditions for noble rot (Botrytis cinerea) and thus contributes to the character of the sweet dessert wines. In addition to the classic Barsac, the estate also produces dry white Bordeaux wines, which is relatively unusual for this appellation. The wines of Château Doisy Daëne are known for their freshness, aromatic complexity and structure, qualities that are appreciated internationally.
