Château Durfort-Vivens 2021 in magnum is a red Bordeaux from Margaux with a distinctly Cabernet-led identity. This is the grand vin of a property classified as Deuxième Grand Cru Classé in 1855, and the 2021 vintage stands out for its remarkable blend: 97% Cabernet Sauvignon and 3% Merlot. That high Cabernet proportion gives the wine its firm line, freshness and architectural structure.The vintage came from a cooler, more demanding growing season than the warmer years before it. Instead of broad ripeness, the emphasis here is on precision, tension and aromatic clarity. Chateau Durfort-Vivens is a French winery located in the Margaux appellation, in the Bordeaux region. The domaine has a long history that dates back to the 17th century and received its current name after being acquired by the Vivens family in the 19th century. Today, Chateau Durfort-Vivens is owned by Gonzague Lurton, who has continued the winery in the Bordeaux tradition with an emphasis on respect for the terroir. The vineyards are located mainly on gravel-rich soils, which is typical for Margaux and contributes to the elegant style of the wines.
