Pascal Prunier Bonheur Beaune White Clos Saint Desire 2022 is a Chardonnay from Beaune in Burgundy. Its appeal lies partly in its precise origin: the grapes come from a south-east-facing parcel located above the Beaune Premier Cru climat Clos des Mouches. The clay-limestone soil, with limestone clearly to the fore, gives this wine a strong sense of place without presenting it as a Premier Cru.Domaine Pascal Prunier-Bonheur is a family estate based in Meursault. Pascal Prunier established himself in 1983, and the domaine took its current name after his marriage to Christine Bonheur in 1999. Today it covers around 8 hectares across villages including Saint-Romain, Auxey-Duresses, Meursault, Monthélie, Pommard and Beaune.
The white wines are handled with a clear focus on finesse. The grapes are brought quickly to the cellar, pressed pneumatically and fermented in oak at low temperature. Ageing takes place entirely in oak barrels, with the domaine increasingly using 350-litre barrels to help preserve freshness and refinement.
