Chateau Beauregard 2021 in magnum is a red Pomerol from Bordeaux with a real sense of precision. This is the estate's grand vin, drawn from vineyards on the south-eastern edge of the Pomerol plateau, where clay and gravel soils shape the wine's identity.The 2021 blend is 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Franc. The château describes the vintage through freshness, complexity and elegance, which fits the growing season: a cooler, slower year, helped by a more favourable September. Grapes were hand-harvested parcel by parcel, carefully sorted and vinified separately.
The 18-month ageing combines new barriques with a portion raised in earthenware jars. That detail says a lot about the wine's direction: cedar, toast and chocolate notes from the oak, with fruit expression and freshness still kept firmly in view.
