Château Beaumont 2021 in half-bottle format is a red Bordeaux from the Haut-Médoc, offering the same wine in a practical 37.5 cl size. The estate is based in Cussac-Fort-Médoc on the left bank of the Gironde, between Margaux and Saint-Julien. As a Cru Bourgeois Supérieur, it sits firmly in classic Médoc territory, with cabernet sauvignon setting the tone.The 2021 vintage gave Beaumont a slightly different blend from usual. Spring frost particularly affected the merlot, so cabernet sauvignon takes a larger role here: 65% cabernet sauvignon, 30% merlot and 5% petit verdot. That explains the wine's structured feel, while the producer highlights freshness, fruit and silky tannins as key elements of the vintage.
The grapes come from deep gravel and sandy-gravel soils, typical of this part of the left bank. After traditional vinification, the wine was aged for 14 months in French oak barrels, around one third of them new. The oak supports the wine rather than dominating it, leaving space for the fruit, spice and fine tannic frame that define its Médoc style.
