Aile d'Argent du Château Mouton Rothschild 2021 is the dry white Bordeaux from Château Mouton Rothschild. It shows another side of a property best known for Pauillac: a white wine rooted in the Sauvignon Blanc, Sauvignon Gris and Sémillon plantings established on the estate from the early 1980s by Philippine de Rothschild.The 2021 vintage brought a cooler, fresher style, with the white grapes harvested between 6 and 20 September. A small proportion underwent malolactic conversion to soften the naturally high freshness of the year, while maturation with partly new oak adds texture and depth rather than an overtly woody impression.
The name has a personal origin as well: Aile d'Argent refers to a children's story created by Baron Philippe de Rothschild for his daughter Philippine. At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see this as a white Bordeaux with real provenance and personality, especially now that only the last bottles of this 2021 release remain.

This wine was first crëated in the nineteen-nineties and marks a rare example of a white Bordeaux from a wine estate that is mainly famous for its red wines. The vineyards for Aile D'Argent consist mainly of sauvignon blanc, with an addition of sëmillon, muscadelle and sauvignon gris. The wine is usually fermented and aged in oak barrels, which contributes to a rich and layered character.
