Château Pape Clément Red 2021 is the red grand vin from Pessac-Léognan in Bordeaux. The blend for this vintage is 60% Merlot and 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, drawn from carefully managed vineyard parcels planted on clay and gravel soils.The 2021 vintage in Bordeaux was shaped more by freshness, acidity and precision than by sheer ripeness. That gives this wine a more classical line: structured, defined and less exuberant than warmer recent years. The fruit was selected with care, including manual and optical sorting, followed by a 28-day maceration and 18 months of ageing in French oak, mostly barriques with a smaller part in foudres.

Château Pape Clément is a historic French wine producer located in the Pessac-Léognan appellation in the Bordeaux region. The winery is named after Bertrand de Goth, who later became Pope Clément V, and it can be verified that he owned the vineyard in the early 14th century. Château Pape Clément is one of the oldest continuously operating wine estates in Bordeaux, with a history spanning more than seven centuries and a strong connection to the development of high-quality wines in the Graves. Today, the estate covers about 60 hectares, planted with typical Bordeaux grape varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and to a lesser extent Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot for the red wines, as well as Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc for the white wines. In the course of the 20th century, Château Pape Clément underwent extensive renovation; since 1980 it has been managed by Bernard Magrez, a well-known name in the French wine world. The wines are known for their rich structure and complexity, with a pronounced aging potential. Thanks to a combination of historical significance and a consistent focus on quality, Château Pape Clément is highly valued by wine enthusiasts worldwide.
