HB Haut Bailly 2022 is the third wine of Château Haut-Bailly, from Pessac-Léognan in Bordeaux. It sits below Château Haut-Bailly and Haut-Bailly II, with a more immediate style intended to be enjoyed earlier.The 2022 blend combines cabernet sauvignon, merlot, cabernet franc and a small proportion of petit verdot. It comes from the estate's youngest vines, with selected parcels that are not used for the higher cuvées. A shorter period in barrique gives the wine some structure and softness while keeping the focus on fruit.
At Haut-Bailly, 2022 was a warm, dry year with several heatwaves and an early September harvest. Even so, this HB is described as supple and approachable rather than heavily concentrated. In the Bordeaux selection at Drankenshop Broekmans, it has its place as a clear and enjoyable introduction to the Haut-Bailly estate style.

About CH HAUT BAILLY
Château Haut-Bailly is a well-known name from the French Bordeaux region and is located in the heart of Pessac-Lëognan, just south of the city of Bordeaux. The estate has a history dating back to the 16th century and has long been known for producing red wines mainly from Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc. The château owns around 30 hectares of vineyards on a unique sandy gravel soil, which contributes to the distinctive elegance and structure of the wines. Since 1998, Château Haut-Bailly has been owned by the Wilmers family; recently, ownership has passed on to their descendants, with input from an international team.
