La Closerie de Camensac 2021 is a red Haut-Médoc from France, produced by Château de Camensac in Saint-Laurent-Médoc, close to Saint-Julien. As the second wine of the château, it offers a more direct way into the Camensac style while remaining firmly rooted in Bordeaux tradition.The 2021 vintage was not a straightforward one. A mild, wet winter was followed by April frost, humid flowering conditions and renewed rain pressure around harvest. Even so, the grapes were brought to ripeness. The blend is 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, with selective harvesting, sorting at the cellar, fermentation with maceration and 12 months of ageing in French oak barriques, around 10% of them new.

Château de Camensac is a historic winery from the Bordeaux region in France, specifically located in the appellation Haut-Médoc. The castle and vineyards have a long tradition dating back to the 18th century, but the estate gained international fame when it was included in the famous 1855 classification of the Grand Cru Classés, where it received the status of Cinquième Cru (Fifth Group). The vineyards of Château de Camensac cover about 75 hectares, featuring mainly cabernet sauvignon and merlot as grape varieties, and the viticulture takes place on typical gravel soils that are characteristic for the region. The style of the wines is known for their freshness, structure and aging potential, contemporary with a classic Bordeaux signature. Château de Camensac is nowadays managed by the Merlaut family, who work together with a dedicated team of winemakers. Thanks to investments and a focus on quality, both the wines and the wine estate are popular among lovers of classic Bordeaux wines.
