Chateau Phelan Segur 2021 is the Grand Vin of this Saint-Estèphe estate in the Médoc. It is a dry red Bordeaux with a distinctly Cabernet-led blend: 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 21% Merlot and 4% Petit Verdot. According to the estate information, this was the highest proportion of Cabernet Sauvignon used in the wine up to that point, giving the 2021 a firm, classical line.The grapes come from Chateau Phelan Segur's 70 hectares of vineyards, planted on clay and gravel soils close to the Gironde. The 2021 vintage was a demanding one in Saint-Estèphe, marked by changing weather conditions and low yields.
