Domaine Charlopin Tissier Aloxe Corton 2020 is a red Burgundy from the Aloxe-Corton appellation in the Côte de Beaune. Made from Pinot Noir, it comes from the Les Petits Vercots climat, where reddish limestone-rich soils with iron-bearing elements help define the origin of the wine at the foot of the Corton hill.Yann Charlopin and Justine Tissier work from Morey-Saint-Denis across several Burgundy appellations. This Aloxe-Corton shows a Côte de Beaune side of their range: site-specific, structured and shaped by a careful élevage rather than by appellation name alone.
For the 2020 vintage, the grapes were fully destemmed, followed by cold pre-fermentation maceration and spontaneous fermentation. The wine then matured slowly for 18 months on fine lees in 228-litre barriques, with a reported new oak proportion of 50 to 75%. That maturation adds a mocha-like oak nuance to the Pinot Noir fruit.

About DOMAINE CHARLOPIN TISSIER
Domaine Charlopin Tissier comes from Burgundy, one of France's most highly regarded wine regions. This relatively young estate was founded in 2013 and is run by brothers Yann and Justine Charlopin, who come from a family with deep-rooted wine traditions. Although the estate does not yet belong to the absolute greats of Burgundy, it has managed to attract attention in a short period of time with its approach to winemaking: respect for the terroir, minimal intervention in the cellar, and a strong focus on the expression of grape varieties such as Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Charlopin Tissier owns vineyards around, among others, Morey-Saint-Denis and Gevrey-Chambertin, resulting in a range of typical Burgundy wines that vary from fresh, mineral-driven white wines to elegant and refined red wines. The working method is largely traditional, with manual harvesting and careful selection being standard practice. Despite its short history, Domaine Charlopin Tissier has become a name that is followed with curiosity by enthusiasts of modern Burgundy with a classic approach.
