Flavour notes

Château Lafite Rothschild 2020 Demi is the estate's Grand Vin in a 37.5 cl half-bottle. Demi refers to the bottle size, not to a separate cuvée, so this is the same Château Lafite Rothschild 2020 in a smaller and more considered format.The 2020 blend is led decisively by Cabernet Sauvignon: 92% Cabernet Sauvignon, with 7% Merlot and 1% Petit Verdot. It comes from Pauillac, where gravel-rich soils and parcel-by-parcel vinification are central to the estate's approach. After selection, the wine spends 15 months in new French oak barrels.
In the Bordeaux selection at Drankenshop Broekmans, this bottle stands out for its pedigree and restraint: a Premier Grand Cru Classé from the 1855 classification, from a vintage the château described as excellent. The wine is built around dark fruit, structure and firm yet refined tannins. The half-bottle format may develop faster than a standard bottle, but the wine itself is clearly made with ageing in mind.
