Château La Mission Haut-Brion Rouge 2020 is the red grand vin of the estate in Pessac-Léognan, Bordeaux. Classified as a Cru Classé de Graves, it comes from vineyards in Talence and Pessac, only a few kilometres southwest of central Bordeaux, on the gravel-rich terraces linked to the historic Haut-Brion terroir.The 2020 vintage was shaped by contrast. A mild, wet winter brought an early start to the growing season, followed by an exceptionally warm and dry period from mid-June to mid-August. The estate limited leaf removal to help protect the bunches and maintain aromatic freshness, before August rain supported the final stages of ripening. The red grapes were harvested between 7 and 29 September.
The blend brings together Merlot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, with maturation in barriques and a high proportion of new oak. In the available tasting notes, that oak influence is described as spicy and integrated rather than separate from the wine's structure.
