Fugue de Nenin 2020 is the second wine of Château Nenin in Pomerol. Its name refers to the musical idea of a fugue: a return to a central theme. Here, that theme is Château Nenin's Pomerol identity, expressed in a rounder, softer and earlier-drinking form than the grand vin.The 2020 vintage is built around 90% merlot and 10% cabernet franc. The fruit comes from parcels selected for Fugue de Nenin, including sandy-clay soils in the eastern part of the vineyard and younger vines on the Pomerol plateau. A warm summer, supported by cooler nights, helped produce ripe grapes while keeping a welcome sense of freshness.
The 37.5 cl half bottle gives this wine a very practical charm. At Drankenshop Broekmans, we like formats like this when they make it easier to open a serious Bordeaux for a smaller table, a thoughtful dinner or a moment when a full bottle simply feels too much.

About CH NENIN
Château Nenin is a winery from the Pomerol appellation, located on the right bank of Bordeaux in France. The estate belongs to the classic producers of this region, where mainly red wines are made with a dominant share of merlot, supplemented by cabernet franc and sometimes a small amount of cabernet sauvignon. Château Nenin has a history that dates back to the nineteenth century, with a distinctive feature being that it has long been owned by families closely connected to the region. Since 1997, the estate has been owned by the Delon family, who are also known for Château Leoville Las Cases in Saint-Julien. The vineyards of Château Nenin are situated on clay and gravel soils, conditions considered particularly suitable for the typical Pomerol grapes. The winery is known for an elegant style with a refined structure and ageing potential. In addition to the grand vin, this house also produces a second wine under the name Fugue de Nenin. In the international wine world, Château Nenin is regularly appreciated for its consistently high quality, though it does not belong to the most famous names of Pomerol such as Pëtrus or Le Pin. Still, enthusiasts value the wines of Château Nenin for their characteristic balance and reliability.
