Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande 2020 Demi is the Grand Vin of this Pauillac estate, classified as a Deuxième Grand Cru Classé in the 1855 classification. The 37.5 cl half-bottle format does not change the wine's identity; it is the same official cuvée in a smaller bottle.The 2020 blend is strongly led by cabernet sauvignon: 77% cabernet sauvignon, 17% merlot and 6% cabernet franc. The grapes come from Pichon Comtesse's Pauillac vineyards, planted on gravel, clay and sand soils. Vinification was carried out parcel by parcel, with gravity-fed transfer into temperature-controlled conical stainless-steel tanks, followed by 18 months in oak barrels, 60% of them new.

This winery traces its origins back to the 19th century and is internationally renowned for its elegant red wines, in which cabernet sauvignon usually plays the leading role, often complemented by merlot and smaller proportions of cabernet franc and petit verdot. The vineyards are situated on the characteristic gravel soils of the left bank of the Gironde, which contributes to the structure and aging potential of the wines. Château Pichon Comtesse received the status of Deuxième Cru Classé in the 1855 Bordeaux classification, placing it among the second highest rank of the Medoc vineyards.
