Aile d'Argent 2020 is the dry white wine of Château Mouton Rothschild in Bordeaux. It shows another side of the Pauillac estate: a white cuvée born from the planting of white grape varieties in the 1980s, now sitting alongside the château's red wines as its own distinct expression.For the 2020 vintage, the blend is 66% Sauvignon and 34% Sémillon. The fruit comes from sandy and gravelly plots on the Mouton Rothschild terroir, although the wine is labelled as Bordeaux blanc. It was an early vintage, harvested from 24 to 28 August, with the timing chosen to retain freshness and aromatic finesse.
The winemaking points to precision rather than heaviness: no skin contact, no malolactic conversion, and oak ageing with around 45% new wood and roughly nine months in barrel. That combination gives the wine texture and depth while keeping its bright, dry character intact.
