Château La Tour Carnet 2020 is a Haut-Médoc with a firmly Bordeaux identity. It is the grand vin of an estate classified in 1855 as a Quatrième Grand Cru Classé, from Saint-Laurent-Médoc. For the 2020 vintage, the blend is led by merlot at 60%, supported by 40% cabernet sauvignon.That composition gives the wine a distinctive angle within the Médoc: ripe dark fruit and generosity from the merlot, with cabernet sauvignon providing the frame and tannic structure. The vineyard information refers to günz gravel over a predominantly limestone-rich clay subsoil, and the estate is listed with Haute Valeur Environnementale level 3 certification.
The winemaking is handled with considerable precision. Grapes are selected in the vineyard, sorted by hand, moved into vats by gravity and fermented in wooden vats and small concrete vats.
