Château d'Esclans Les Clans 2021 shows the more serious side of Provence rosé. This is a dry, still wine from Côtes de Provence, made from grapes grown in the château's own vineyards. Selected parcels of old-vine Grenache, Vermentino and Syrah give it more depth and structure than a light, casual rosé.The winemaking also points clearly towards a gastronomic style. The grapes are handled at low temperature to protect freshness, then fermented and matured in large French oak barrels, using a mix of new and used wood. Regular lees stirring adds body and a smooth texture, giving Les Clans its fuller, more layered feel.

About LES CLANS
Les Clans is a wine brand originating from Provence, France, and is part of the portfolio of Château d'Esclans. The estate is located near the village of La Motte and was acquired by winemaker Sacha Lichine in 2006. Les Clans is especially known for its luxury rosé wines that are aged in oak, setting it apart from many lighter Provençale rosés. The grape selection consists mainly of Grenache and Rolle (the local name for Vermentino), sourced from older vines with low yields. This combination creates a full-bodied, rich style with a distinctly unique character within the premium rosé segment. The wines from Les Clans are fermented and aged in partially new oak barrels, resulting in complex and gastronomic flavors reminiscent of white Burgundies, but with a rosé expression.
