L'Aventure Cote A Cote 2020 is a red wine from Paso Robles, shaped as a Rhône-inspired blend with Grenache at its core, supported by Syrah and Mourvèdre. All the fruit comes from L'Aventure Vineyard on the western side of Paso Robles, where warm days and cool nights help build slow ripening and a clear balance between ripeness, alcohol and acidity.The estate was founded by Stephan Asseo, a French winemaker with a Bordeaux background who started in Paso Robles in 1998. Cote A Cote was first produced in 2003 and is positioned by the winery as a tribute to the southern Rhône, while keeping the identity of Paso Robles firmly in view. The 2020 vintage spent 14 months in a mix of French oak, concrete and amphora, and was bottled unfined and unfiltered.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of bottle we place with serious, full-bodied red wines that have structure as well as ageing potential. The producer mentions more than 20 years of cellaring potential, and the 2020 vintage received very strong recognition from several international critics. With only the last bottles remaining, its availability is limited, but the real point of interest is the wine itself: a concentrated Paso Robles interpretation of a Rhône-style blend.

L'Aventure is a wine brand from the United States with roots in the Paso Robles region, Californiâ. The estate was founded in 1998 by the French winemaker Stephan Asseo, who, after years of experience in Bordeaux, decided to realize his own vision of winemaking in Californiâ. The vineyards are located in the western part of Paso Robles, an area known for its calcareous soils and distinctive Mediterranean climate. L'Aventure is especially known for its blends of Bordeaux and Rhône grape varieties, such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, and Petit Verdot. By combining traditional French techniques with the possibilities of Californian terroir, the winery is able to produce powerful and concentrated wines that are often characterized by depth and structure. The approach focuses on a low yield per hectare and a careful selection of grapes. Over the years, L'Aventure has received much attention from both wine enthusiasts and critics and is known as one of the pioneers in Paso Robles in the field of innovative wine styles.
