Le C des Carmes Haut-Brion 2019 is a dry red wine from Pessac-Léognan in Bordeaux, produced by Ch Les Carmes Haut Brion. It comes from the vineyard area used for this cuvée around Martillac, separate from the historic clos of Les Carmes Haut-Brion. That gives the wine its own identity within the estate: clearly rooted in Bordeaux, yet shaped by a distinct parcel story.The 2019 blend is led by Cabernet Sauvignon, supported by Merlot and a small share of Petit Verdot. The grapes were hand-harvested from late September into early October. Fermentation took place in temperature-controlled stainless steel, wooden and concrete vats, with whole berries and partly whole bunches. Maturation lasted 18 to 24 months, mainly in one-year-old oak barrels and foudres, alongside a smaller proportion of new barriques.
What makes this vintage stand out is the contrast between the producer's description of 2019 as a rich, dense and elegant Bordeaux year and the tasting profile of the wine itself, where freshness, fine tannins and a straight, slender structure remain central.
